It was very pretty with nice pages, but much smaller than I wanted so it was thick. As a lefty, it would be hard to write in it. It wouldn’t have enough space for even one or two sentences per day. While it was lovely, I wanted something that would work better for me and returned it.
This five year diary contains 5-6 lines for a brief description of each day’s activities. If you write small, it is sufficient. I really like how I can look back at the past years to see what I did on that particular day.
Beautiful book but VERY small. I’m 73 years old and I hope I can read the small print next year…and the year after that….
One of the best gifts I’ve ever received (I’m now writing in my second one) and I’ve now purchased it for multiple people! It’s beautiful and sweet. It’s durable and lasts for five years of writing in it everyday. I love that the writing spots aren’t too big, so it doesn’t feel like a chore writing everyday. Also it’s amazing reading what you wrote previous years on the day you’re currently writing in. I honestly absolutely love this One Line A Day Book and can’t say enough good things about it! I’d 1,000% recommend this. Buy it for yourself or give it as a gift. Hope this review helps readers!
I have been writing in this book every day for about four and half years. It looked great when I first received it. I certainly love the concept and that it has a few lines for writing each day. You can actually get in a few lines. It's been great for looking back and remembering what happened when.My issue is, the book is now starting to fall apart. The spine is cracked and the back and cover are trying to come off. I took some clear packaging tape and taped it up so that it will hopefully hold together until I'm finished with it. Also, the print on the cover and spine have almost completely faded away. For my next 5 year journal, I purchased a more expensive fabric bound book that will hopefully hold up better.

I bought this as a graduation gift for our daughter after hearing our Pastor mention it. I thought it would be wonderful for her to track her days quickly over the years and be able to look back after 5 years. The pattern is lovely. It’s smaller than I expected (put my hand in a photo for size reference) so beware of that but I think it will be perfect for her.

I've wanted one of these diaries ever since I came across a post about someone finding their grandma's 5 year diary from early 1900's. This one is so beautiful 😍 I love the small size, because it's perfect to bring with me on travels. I also like how you only get a few lines each day, so it doesn't overwhelm you and it's just big enough for daily highlights. It looks like it's made with quality and should last me for 5 years without falling apart. I'd highly recommend this. And it will make a beautiful gift too.
I bought this journal in December 2019 and began using it on January 1st.Let me start off by saying it’s DEFINITELY worth buying! I can’t keep a consistent journal, but I’ve kept up with this. The most I’ve gone without writing is a week but I always catch up. There’s no excuse for missing a day. My shortest entry says, “Bad day.” This has been a crazy year so I’m going to appreciate looking back at my daily life when this year will eventually be generalized as The Pandemic, only to be remembered for the bad things. The only complaint about this book is the wear and tear. This book sits on its back on my brown desk or stands on its side upright on a white bookshelf. I open it almost daily, flatten it out to write, and then I put it back. Sometimes I thumb through it to look back at something. In January I had to stay in a different room due to home renovation, so it was kept in a bag instead of my desk for about a week. Still, usage and moving it around is minimal.Despite not being used much, it’s already showing signs of wear and tear and I haven’t even had it a year. I only scoot it around a little bit while I’m writing but there’s what looks to be pen stains on the back. I can’t figure that part out — maybe there’s pen ink on my desk I can’t see?The bottom part of the spine is starting to fray, but that’s to be expected since I started standing it up.Nothing lasts forever and I certainly don’t expect this to last 5 years. If it takes this much damage every 9 months, I think it might be in tatters once it’s filled up. On the bright side, the spine isn’t broken and the inside covers are still holding together, so I’d say she’s still in great shape.I highly recommend getting this little book. I think it’s important to record our mundane lives. Ever wonder what mundane looked like a long time ago? Preserve your personal history because someone will appreciate it one day.Just be careful with this particular book.
If you're a sap like me, this little book is an ideal way to reminisce. This is my second "one line a day" five year memory book. I started one when my daughter was born in 2014. Jotting down a quick recap of the day is a nice little exercise in mindfulness, but the best part comes later. Here's why: Each page features the calendar date and 5 empty slots for you to record the year and a brief synopsis of the day. As the years progress, you'll look back and see what you wrote in previous years on that exact calendar date. You'll ultimately have five years of memories stacked on each page. I can't express how neat this experience is if you have a young child. The days are long, but the years are short. This book provides a great illustration of how rapidly life changes and teaches you to savor each moment. I absolutely love the format of this book! The design on this particular version is gorgeous. It's so pretty and very well made. The spine is sturdy (my previous one withstood some serious abuse) and the pages are gilded - fancy! If my house ever went up in flames, these books would be one of the "must have" items I'd grab! I highly recommend.

Book was too small. Returned it to get a larger one.
Love this little book! Looking forward to completing the first year and looking back as I complete the years ahead. It is well constructed to last. Pages are a nice heavy weight paper. Beautiful design.

Beautiful. Front & back cover padded & cushy. Paper is quality, matte. A thick marker will give a little bleed through. Use fine point marker or ball point pen. Love the colors. The limited space for "one line a day" cuts the pressure of having to fill a traditional daily journal.
This is my five-year review of the One Line A Day book. I’ve been collecting these since 2010, and the quality of the ink embossing on these books has noticeably gone down. The very first one I got still has the metallic embossing clear as day on it, though the covers are quite worn. But I can’t even read the title on the others even though they’re newer. Still worth buying but disappointed in the lower quality.
I started because of several good reasons. There's not a lot of room to write very much, but if you do it everyday, you don't need it. I record anything out of the ordinary I do, or the main events of the day. Maybe including the high temperature for the day... storms, whatever... something going on with a family member... how much exercise I got... anything. It's got room for 5 years. It'll be nice to compare activities or entries in years to come. After I'm gone from this world, it might be interesting for family I leave behind.
I’ve always been terrible about keeping a journal, but something about knowing I only need to write a sentence or two each night seems more attainable, so I’m giving this a go. The journal itself is a convenient size to keep in my nightstand and I appreciate the ribbon, so I can quickly return to where I am in the book each night. I like the flowers on the cover and the gold edging on the pages, and the page thickness is sufficient. I use a Dr. Grip with fine point and I haven’t had any issues with bleed-through. The only possible improvement I could want is a lock on it, but hopefully no one in my house goes snooping. I’ve already found it helpful for settling those silly disputes with friends and family over things like on which day we did something so even if nothing else, it’s a handy record of things like that! :)
This is my first time ever trying to keep any type of diary. There is room for a short paragraph for the day. And five years on same page! Years are not pre-numbered, which is okay. Looking forward to seeing what was special to me on the same day a year or two from now. I'm trying to focus primarily on positive thoughts, due to almos 2 years of being in a COVID lockdown in my area. Zoom has become a cvery good friend, as in person communications are very limited. Focus on the Positive. However I can see something like this good for someone going through tougher times too.
I love the concept of writing a few sentences per day to highlight. It's easy to be consistent because it takes a minute or 2. Each day has only a few lines so it keeps you focused on getting to the point. I love that it lasts 5 years. Each day is stacked under the same day of the prior year so that you could review what you were doing the same day up to 4 years prior. Cool concept. Finally no more guilt over not completing an annual journal.
I bought this 5-year journal because it looked fun and I thought it would be neat to look back on 5+ years from now. If the thought of journaling for 5 years straight is daunting to you, I'd recommend doing so anyway. There are only a few lines for each day's entry, and each day will fill up quickly. My days aren't terribly exciting, but I often write in the margins for an extra thought. The book is small and can fit into a medium size purse. It has a ribbon bookmark. The colors on the cover and inside pages are pretty, just like the product picture. I started this journal on January 3, but backdated January 1 and 2. You don't have to start it on January 1. Start it on the day you get the journal, even if it is in the middle of the year.
I assume most people are like me. I think it would be great to have journals to look back on in years to come so I start writing daily entries, only to quit in just a few weeks. Well, I'm proud to say that I've stuck to this one for over a month! This format of just a few lines a day makes it a breeze. I look forward to jotting down the most important facts and highlights of the day. I often wonder how the world will have changed in 5 years. Will I still be receiving my monthly Subscribe and Save deliveries? Will my exciting new toy, the new Echo, be a technological joke? And where will my high schoolers be? It only takes a minute or 2 a day to stay up to date. It's pretty enough to keep visible on the kitchen shelf - easy to grab. But one of the main reason I bought this one over the other options is the sturdy cover. Will it still be sturdy after the 1,825th entry? I believe so!
This is such a fantastic idea for journal-avoiders like myself. I DO want to keep track of major events in my life, but that's it. Like, "there was a blizzard today" or "the dog at the whole loaf of bread and I had to make her puke." Other than that, I don't want to pour out my heart to a book. This book is five years' worth in one volume. You get about six lines to write the major stuff of that day, or maybe what you're grateful for, or your 12-step slogan of the day - whatever - but it's only a few lines, not pages...and pages...and pages... of lines. And, I have actually written in it EVERY DAY FOR A MONTH, which for me is a record. Now I'll remember stuff, especially as I get older and...you know. Forget everything. Grandma Blondie says THUMBS UP!
